With the Planner activity you can define binding dates with your students, e.g. to the consultation hours organization.

Deploy a planner in the classroom

You change to the course area in which you want to set the planner in the edit mode and select the planner via "Add material or activity". Now configure the planner.

Under Mode, you determine how many appointments students can choose. The selection ranges from 1 - unlimited. Furthermore, you specify here whether the number of appointments should be fixed ("in this planner") or set back ("all at once"). "In this planner" means that students will not have any appointments other than those specified here even if the teacher marks them as "seen." "All at once" means, however, that students can book more appointments when their appointment is over and the teacher has marked it as "seen".

Other possible basic settings refer to the duration of the appointments (time window) and how shortly before the appointment the participants can still change their booking (blocked time). Depending on how you select the default setting, you can use this activity to create individual appointments or repetitive appointment series. The notification function sets whether students / lecturers should be informed about appointment bookings / cancellations.
