Login
In order to log in the blog click Anmelden (login) at the bottom of the page and enter your username and password. Unfortunately our blog settings are only available in German at the moment.
After a successful login, you can click dashboard to change your blog’s settings.
Startseite is the homepage of the dashboard
Aktualisierungen (Updates) show which plugins or themes need an update. Only the E-Learning team can initiate updates. When there are pending updates, please inform the E-Learning team.
In
Beiträge (Posts), you can create new blog posts, categories and tags.
In
Mediathek (Media Library), you can add attachments (photos or videos) which you can use in posts. You can also add titles and descriptions to them.
In
Seiten (Pages), you can manage the pages in the blog. Pages and posts are completely different. Pages are more of blog sections and contain several posts. An example is Über den Blog (About the blog).
In
Kommentare (Comments), you can manage the reader’s comments: reject, approve, mark as spam or delete completely.
Plugins are extra blog features. For example, Ninja Forms to create online forms and so on.
In
Benutzer (User), you can the different roles of all blog user (subscriber, employee, administrator, author or editor). Additionally, you can assign roles to the pending users, add new users or delete old one. To add a new user, you would need their username and email address and then choose their role. The password will be generated automatically and sent to the new user by email. When you do not choose a role for the user, the user will be automatically a “subscriber” or a “registered user”. In that case, the user can only edit their own profile and certain elements in the dashboard. Otherwise, they can only read , not edit.
In
Einstellungen (Settings), you can change the general blog settings.
In
Allgemein (General), you can edit the title and subtitle of the blog, change you email address and approve the roles of the new users.
In
Lesen (Read), you can choose which post will be available on the homepage and choose the maximum amount of posts to be shown per page.
In
Diskussion (Discussion), you can configure the most important settings for comments. For example, you can prohibit users from commenting. You can also allow comments from current users only, who left names and email addresses or logged in users. You can configure it in a way that comments do not appear until they have been approved by a blog admin and set up a filter for unwanted comments.
Design
In Design you can change how your blog looks like.
In
Themes, you can choose the blog theme. On the screenshot, you see the blog with the
WordPress theme “Twenty sixteen”. You can choose another theme of course.
Customizer gives you the possibility to edit the homepage of your blog. Under Website Information, you can edit the title (1) and the subtitle (2) of the page and add your own logo (3). In Farben (colours), you can add other colours for background, links, texts, etc. You can also add a cover image (4) and/or a background image.
Menüs define the blog page order. There are two types of menus, a primary menu or header menu (5) and social links menu to link to different social media channels.
Widgets (5) are elements which are in the sidebar and shown on every blog page. For example: Search field, newest posts, newest comments, archive, categories etc. You can also rearrange existing widgets or add new ones, for example: calendar, video, etc.
The
Statische Startseite (Static homepage) is a blog page that is always shown on the homepage. This page is automatically shown with the newest bloposts.
